Passed a sign today that said "58 days to spring"
excited enough about gardening this year that I'm starting early with seeds rather than buying plants.

Off to richters/burpee but where else is good?

I like seedsofchange.org I got so excited about this year - I ended up getting all my seeds a month or three ago - minus the potato starts (which aren't really available till Febuary and asparagus (which takes years)...
I really like them too. I also use Pine Tree Gardens because I can get small quantities of something I want to try. Did you start your tomatoes yet? I'm just starting mine.
Smaller sets of seeds are great! Really useful and much less expensive to experiment with! Thanks for the link. I will add them to the front page.

I am about to start up my seedling ...though we have an extremely short season (last frost June 29 - first frost August 28th) ...makes me weep just thinking about it...and the summer is very hot and dry.
Started some earlys today! And can report that my mini greenhouse set up is starting to produce sprouts. Daffodils were also spotting.
oooops! thanks gavin.
Hi Gavin,
You may have already ordered your seeds, but take a look at www.reimerseeds.com. They have a wide assortment of seeds (38 varieties listed under "beans"), and several "world record size" varieties. If you like hot peppers, they have a separate section they call "the Pepper Store".
Enjoy!
Carol
