Bethel Yardshare

Gardeners seeking soil. Land owners/renters with big yards (and landlords' permission) seeking sharecroppers. This group may eventually result in a locally owned, operated and supported agricultural cooperative (or not). Let's share information!

Does anyone in the Bethel area of Eugene, OR have top soil or other planting medium to give away. I can pick it up/load it my self and will be so grateful!

Howdy, Yard-sharing Friends.

Just wanted to let you all know I've got a new blog:

www.eugenegardenscene.com

I'll be posting seasonal info for our bio-region; observations and updates on the Suburban Ecovillage Permaculture Demonstration Site; gardening-related news, events, classes and activities in Eugene. My hope is that lots of people will subscribe and contribute info about the same topics, so that it can become a clearinghouse for information on vegetable gardening and edible landscaping for our area.

I've also set up a discussion group, with a calendar, where folks can engage in more lengthy, in-depth discussions and post links, files, photos and recipes:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eugengardenscene/

Hope to see you there!

We'll be at the corner of Teralee and Sandstone, just North of Roosevelt and West of Beltline. After we're all moved in I'll have to come up to your work site to check it out! I'm afraid I won't be able to be of much help to anyone for a while, I'm a stay-at-home mom with two small boys, and will be pretty busy and broke for a while after I move while I try to get my garden established and get everything I need for my new house, like a refrigerator and washer and dryer. I do plan on collecting and sharing seeds later on this year, though, and any other such garden surplus.

Hi, Joanne. I saw you checked in on the Danebo pod, too. Where exactly are you going to be located (you can reply offline to denise_for_peace@yahoo.com if you like). We are on Taft, 3 blocks west of Hwy 99 Donuts. I am starting work, next week, out near the Golden Gardens wetlands park, where I hope to get some gardening and edible landscaping activities going at my work site, too! :-)

Hello! I'll be moving into the Bethel/Danebo area in the first week of May, and am planning on converting as much of the lot into food-producing gardens as possible right away. I have a lot of gardening experience, but this will be my first attempt at using permaculture techniques. Any resources for mulch, plant starts/seeds, tools, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

It will take some time to find the people with the idle yards... Did you get the note I sent a couple of days ago? We have another 1-2 interested parties in our area. I've also received a response to the ad I put on Craig's List, but I'm not sure what part of town she's in. I'm thinking gardeners could also make contacts/start gardens in backyards near where they work, not just near where they live. I have some ideas about how to get the word out. Hope to meet you soon. **Denise**

This is exactly what I'm looking for, a yardshare in my area.
