Sadly my yard pal has moved away.  Gardening is really more fun with company

Hey guys - use the DISCUSSION FORUM above to talk about specifics...also you can start sub groups for each yard sharing group that stars in Houston!

Hope everyone is getting ready for SPRING! I tell ya I go out ever day looking for daffodil sprouts (we're still knee deep in snow!)

I Do have them up on Facebook, if you wanted to give a look. I think I have the album on public access, so peeps don't have to be members

I'll see if I can get the gang rounded up for next friday afternoon. Heh, some of us are still feeling Labor day labors. I wish I could get my pics uploaded here. I did it once but now my PC acts up every time I try.

I'm planning on a trip in that direction to pick up some manure and mebbe some empty salt-lick containers for my Aquaponic system. Do ya know if they're open on Sunday? My PC doesn't seem to like their website .

Those are my faves AAR. I will have to go see Sweet Organic and everyone has great things to say about the Last Organic Outpost in Houston. The Fopunder, Mr Icet, has been neck deep in the organic movement in Houston since forever. We also have a famous chef, Monica Pope, that has managed to muscle up some real farmer's markets in this area and still hosts one in her resturant's parking lot at T'afia.

Gourmet Seeds, Fedco, Heirloom Acres, Organic Seed Alliance, and Native Seed Search all provide GMO-free seeds, Fedco is good for buying bean seeds by the LB. Native Seed Search has excellent drought-resistant seeds for our latitude, Gourmet, as it's name suggests, caters to specialty farms and restaurant growers so their notes about flavor are unusually specific and they carry the worlds most delicious melon; Charentais. Super fragrant. Whatcom and Triple Brook carry the unusual stuff. Every spring Urban Harvest has a tree sale that can't be beat and for the rest of the year Tea's nursery is the place to go for most things, when you don't want to wait on a catalogue co Tho if you ever want roses that grow here no matter what go to the Antique Rose Emporium.

No, but I have written it down in my calendar for the next time I get called out there. My usual haunt is Half Price Books, off 288 by Charming Charlie's. I am always trying to do too much on too small a budget so freecycle and craigslist for as many things as possible and a few places on the Internet for free book downloads.
