Hey folks we really count on folks to get the word out offline and on.

Here's a post on growing the potential pool of shares. Because the idea is so new we need all the help we can get!

I just joined up, but it looks like the last post was almost a year ago. Out of curiosity, is this group still going?

geoff, hope you get some offers.

i am really hoping to find some people with yards nearby who could use my labor & compost, too.

as a status update from may 25, i have yet to be contacted by anyone interested in my yardshare offer. the property just to the north (or left in the photo) is currently a residence for sale, if there are any mail materials i can post, this yard space might also be a possible zone for future yardshare. there are about 4 properties here and only one tiny private garden. last year, the neighbor's yard (the one for sale) was abandoned and unkempt.

this is all informational food for thought. if i haven't mentioned, this is a safe neighborhood with pretty easy (no permits required) street parking and very private.

this may be the only year i can offer my space here and have intension to move.

Hey, no we're not associated. I hope folks know both are available.

I tried to contact them to let them know about this resource - sent them the link & suggested they check it out. This is the response I got back:

Hi Lisa, We are launching a yard share program this spring. We hope you’ll get involved! ~Barbara Moore 312.758.1818

I see on their website, they now have a few groups on the frontpage. One is Yard & Garden Sharing and it says it is through Ning... They also have a community orchard one & a yard waste/community compost group. Seems interesting, wonder if it is associated with this site at all.

Wonderful Damon! I hope folks know this is here rather than reinventing the wheel and spending lots of dough. Let folks know we can help!

Hello.
I have pretty decent yard space for Chicago.
Plus planter space.
However, I also have hungry bunnies!
If you'd like to work something out to share this space, please contact me.
Sorry for the rainy day, poor quality cell phone shots. :P

Started spreading the word about the group - hope we get some new people so that we can get something going in the Chicago area!
