Usually people simply share work and resources to grow fruit and
vegetables. You and the people in your yard share group are free to
set up any sort of arrangement you wish, so long as all parties
agree. The fruits of your labors should be shared, this is after
all - the whole point! It makes sense to get a group fund together
for buying seeds and tools and other supplies. How you manage this
is up to your pod. We hope to link to some online tools to help
manage your garden kitty. If you are anxious to get started but
would like more guidance, legal and organizational, consider
getting a copy of The Sharing Solution from Nolo Press - available
to the right on this screen.
Yard sharing can save your yard sharing group ( or pod) a ton of
money on fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts and maybe even eggs (if
your area allows!)
You might also find a professional urban farmer to work with while
using hyperlocavore. Any agreements on how to proceed or organize
neighborhood yard shares would be between you and that farmer.
Please also consider taking your excess fruits and vegetables to
your neighbors and let them know what you are up to! Maybe they
would like to set up their own yard sharing pod!
