What is a pod?

A pod is a private group page allowing an existing yardshare group to communicate and plan their yardshare projects. A yardshare group is a set of friends or neighbors who chose to garden together to make the most of their resources. Anyone can set up a 'group' as a pod. To do so - just start a new group and put POD in the title. Set your pod to 'private.' The person that starts the group is the group moderator and can add members as she or he likes.

How you organize your pod is up to you as are the details of your particular yardshare arrangement. As we grow we will post best practices and boilerplate agreements, however hyperlocavore is not responsible for your private pod, its rules or how it runs.

We will however delete posts that are racist, abusive or threatening in any manner and will reserve the right to delete members who abuse the privilege of using hyperlocavore to organize their yardshares.

Here are some examples of good pod names. Be specific and unique:

Yellow Submarine Pod
NY - Smith Street Pod
The Tomato Clan Pod

These are not good pod names because they are non specific:

NYC Pod Prospect Park Pod
San Mateo Pod

Set the geographic location of your pod on the group settings page! And remember to set your pod to private.
