Preparing to reignite the homesteading fire...

So it's been a long while since I visited this site.  Much has happened in that time.  Two chickens lost to dog attack, started a full-time job which caused my 2012 veg garden to suffer greatly, got divorced... it's been a busy time.  However, my new best friend lives across the street and can't wait to help me revive my once thriving practice -- growing food in my 10 raised beds, tending my mini fruit orchard, and helping me acclimate the two new pullets I’ll bring into the family this spring.…See More

Fantastic Nursery in New Palestine

Hello Indy locals,

I went to an fantastic nursery this morning in New Palestine. It's called "Beyond the Windowsill Greenhouse." Our handyman brought us a thank-you gift -- a truly beautiful herb basket, and he recommended the place (he lives near there). They sell annuals, veggies, herbs and beautiful baskets -- I mean really impressive. All edible plants are grown organically. I got a sweet cherry tomato plant and a San Marzano, each at least 4 feet high and already bearing fruit…
