- Just beginning to learn. I live in an apartment with a tiny balcony that does get some sun. A few weeks ago I started going to a small organic urban garden at City College to learn.

Next year will be better.
My little balcony garden didn't produce much, but I enjoyed it and I learned a lot.
The first time I put together an entire salad from my garden (except the dressing) instead of going to the farmers' market, was a memorable day.
I've already got almost everything I want or need for next year and am looking forward to even more delicious homegrown tomatoes, peas, cucumbers, potatoes, salad greens, and other delights next year.
The best thing is watching this movement grow. With our health and the survival of the planet at stake, it is a big comfort to see so many people who care and a website that facilitates caring and sharing.
